Megan (Suratt) Harless
Update (August '06): After graduating from OSU I went on to work for Oregon Medical Group, Oregon
Supported Living Program, and coach at NAAG, where I had formerly trained. It
was an invaluable experience for me at NAAG where I was able to implement many
training skills and past experiences from both club and collegiate level. The
level 6 team became undefeated state champions, I led the Eugene area Special
Olympics team, and represented Oregon for the TOPS program. My gymnastics
involvement recently had to take a break, as I continued to pursue a career in
medicine. I am currently attending Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon to
become a Physician Assistant. On August 20, I will marry former UO wrestler
Jason Harless in Pleasant Hill, Oregon. He will then be moving up to Hillsboro
with me and start his career as a science and shop teacher, as well as coach
wrestling for the Hillsboro school district.
Memories of OSU Gymnastics: My memories on the OSU gymnastics team are priceless... nobody can ever take those away. I hope that I instilled some values that I learned from gymnastics on young gymnasts that I have worked with. At OSU, friendships were made that will last a lifetime. As a youngster I watched OSU gymnasts in awe... I only hope that OSU gymnastics will continue to make as much of an impact on aspiring gymnasts as it had on me.
